Northwest Deeper Learning Foundation (501 c3) board participates in capacity interview; Public forum is held; "Reimagining Schools" launch event, OBLS is denied approval from charter commission and given feedback
Northwest Deeper Learning Foundation (501c3) submits application for approval of it's first charter school, Out of the Box Learning Studio.
Northwest Deeper Learning Foundation (501c3) is founded & submits notice of intent to submit application to the Washington State Charter School Commission
The OBLS planning year team is formed and continues developing curriculum, making decisions about the learning management system; board members are recruited for the non-profit.
AUGUST , 2013
OBLS is awarded a $100K planning grant from Next Generation Learning Challenges. The expert panel found the collective vision to be "Bold and inventive, promising academically, potentially sustainable and scalable, and plausible to succeed."

Hannah presents school design at an exhibition at Harvard Graduate School of Education, gathering feedback.

As a student in the school leadership program, Hannah develops school design with mentors and colleagues at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, names school Out of the Box Learning Studio.
Hannah begins school leader internship with a 1st year Boston charter school, learning the ropes of starting a brand new school.
